The research direction of the team is to study the optical frequency standards, including the strontium atomic crystal lattice clock, femtosecond optical frequency comb and its application, ultra-stable laser, and ultra-stable optical frequency transmission. The strontium atomic crystal lattice clock is likely to become the new generation of the time & frequency standard. The team is currently devoted to the research for the improvement of the uncertainty of the strontium atomic crystal lattice clock, preparing for the redefinition of unit 'second' in the future.
In 2015, the team obtained the first strontium optical clock evaluation and measurement results after 10 years of research, which were adopted as the source data when the BIPM calculated the international recommendation value of the strontium optical lattice clock frequency.
