Shanghai Laboratory of the National Time and Frequency Metrology Center Established

Recently, the "Shanghai Laboratory of the National Time and Frequency Metrology Center" approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation was officially unveiled in Shanghai. The laboratory, jointly established by the National Time and Frequency Measurement Center(NIM) and the Shanghai Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology, will provide accurate and reliable time services for the Shanghai Stock Exchange Information Technology System and vital technical infrastructure, and further ensure the security of financial data and fairness in stock trading

In addition, the Shanghai Academic Forum on Time and Frequency was held at the same time. At the forum, Athony Donnellan, Director of the International Organization of Legal Metrology, was invited to address a report titled "Overview of International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and the Development of Legal Metrology". Experts from NIM, East China Normal University, and NIM of Optics and Fine Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences made special academic reports on topics such as the research and application of national time-frequency reference standards, development of atomic clocks, and transmission technologies of time-frequency optical fibers, respectively, introducing the development status and trends of the frontier technologies concerning time and frequency aspects at home and abroad.
